We need to make one more strong
push to have the Virginia House of Delegates permit CITIZENS decide if the
Restoration of Voting Rights is good for Virginia!
SJ 266 provides for a voter
referendum on a constitutional amendment that could provide a person convicted
of a nonviolent felony who has completed service of his sentence and paid in
full any restitution, fines, costs, and fees assessed against him shall be
qualified to vote.
Both Governor McDonnell and
Attorney General Cuccinelli have supported this measure and it has passed the
Senate of Virginia. However, the House of Delegates has still refused to
act and allow the legislation to move forward so that all the CITIZENS of the
Commonwealth can vote of the proposed amendment.
Tell the Members of the House and
the Subcommittee that you want your chance to vote!
